Center side airbags have been implemented in the front seats to prevent injuries that may arise in side collisions due to driver-passenger or occupant-object impact within the cabin. A total of ten airbags further protect all vehicle occupants, including advanced airbags for the driver and front passenger seats that detect the presence of a passenger and the severity of a collision to control deployment, side and curtain airbags for both the front and rear, and a driver's knee airbag.

The G70 warns and assists in braking as needed if the preceding vehicle suddenly slows or if there is a high risk of a front-end collision due to a stopped vehicle or sudden appearance of pedestrians or cyclists. Braking assistance is also applied when a risk of collision with an oncoming vehicle is detected when turning left at an intersection.

When BCA detects an imminent collision from the backside while making a lane change or leaving a parking lot from the car’s parallel-parked position, it sends an alert and, if the risk of collision increases even after the alert, the BCA assists to avoid the collision through brake activation.
