Genesis Motor China ISSUES RECALL FOR SELECTED IMPORTED GENESIS vehicles

Shanghai,China, May 9, 2025– Genesis Motor Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Genesis Motor China”) has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Administrative Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Administrative Regulation on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products.

Recall number S2025M0073V: Starting today, Genesis Motor China will recall a total of 181 imported Genesis G80, GV80, GV70, and Electrified GV70 vehicles manufactured between January 25, 2023, and June 19, 2024.

The affected vehicles included in this recall may experience an instrument panel (“IP”) intermittent start-up fault due to a software issue, which can prevent the display of necessary vehicle information such as vehicle speed or warning light information. This poses a potential safety risk.

Genesis Motor China will update the instrument panel software free of charge to eliminate the safety concern. For vehicles that have already received the updated software in a previous service, no additional update will be required in this recall.

Genesis Motor China will notify affected vehicle owners through registered mail and other official ways. Customers may contact the Genesis Customer Engagement Center at 400-7080-900 for further details about this recall.

GENESIS MOTOR CHINA ISSUES RECALL FOR SELECTED IMPORTED GENESIS G70 AND G70 SHOOTING BRAKE MODELS

Shanghai, China, February 14, 2025– Genesis Motor Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Genesis Motor China”), has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Administrative Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Administrative Regulation on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products. Effective immediately, Genesis Motor China will recall a total of 565 imported Genesis G70 and G70 Shooting Brake vehicles manufactured between July 6, 2021, and December 1, 2023.

The affected vehicles may contain a defect in the fuel control valve of the high-pressure fuel pump, which could lead to excessive wear and potential sticking of the valve. In certain cases, this condition may trigger the illumination of the engine warning light and, in more severe instances, result in engine stalling. If left unaddressed, this issue could increase the risk of a crash, posing a potential safety concern.

As part of the recall, Genesis Motor China will conduct an inspection of the impacted vehicles to check for relevant fault codes. If no fault codes are detected, the ECU software will be updated at no cost to the customer. Should fault codes be present, the high-pressure fuel pump will be replaced with a new component, and the ECU software will also be updated—both free of charge.

GENESIS MOTOR CHINA ANNOUNCES RECALL OF SOME IMPORTED GENESIS GV60, G80 AND GV70 VEHICLES

Shanghai, China, February 11, 2025– Genesis Motor Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Genesis Motor China”), has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Administrative Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Administrative Regulation on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. Starting today, Genesis Motor China will recall a total of 542 imported Genesis GV60, Electrified G80, and Electrified GV70 vehicles manufactured between August 11, 2021 and July 10, 2024.

The vehicles subject to the recall, due to a software problem with their integrated charging control module (ICCU) which can damage internal components, may be unable to charge their 12-volt auxiliary battery. If the vehicle continues to be driven with the malfunction indicator light illuminated, the vehicle speed will be gradually limited and after a period of time could eventually lose all motive power, posing a potential safety hazard.

Genesis Motor China will inspect the ICCU of vehicles subject to the recall to check for the relevant fault and resolve the issue to eliminate the potential safety hazard, either with a software update or by replacing the ICCU and associated fuse if necessary. This remedy will be offered at no cost to all affected vehicles.

GENESIS MOTOR CHINA ANNOUNCES RECALL OF SOME IMPORTED GENESIS VEHICLES

Shanghai, China, August 16, 2024– Genesis Motor Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Genesis Motor China”), has recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Administrative Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Administrative Regulation on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. Starting today, Genesis Motor China will recall 1583 units of imported Genesis G80 and GV80 vehicles manufactured between August 27, 2021 and September 8, 2022.

The vehicles subject to the recall may contain fuel pumps with a manufacturing defect that can allow the fuel pump impeller to deform under high temperatures and rub against the fuel pump housing, increasing resistance. In extreme cases, this may cause the fuel pump to stop working and result in loss of motive power, posing a potential safety hazard.

To eliminate the potential safety hazard, Genesis Motor China will replace fuel pump assemblies at no cost for vehicles subject to the recall.

(“Genesis Motor China”), has recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Administrative Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Administrative Regulation on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. Starting today, Genesis Motor China will recall 532 units of imported Genesis GV60, Electrified G80, and Electrified GV70 vehicles manufactured between August 11, 2021 and February 8, 2024.

GENESIS MOTOR CHINA ANNOUNCES RECALL OF SOME IMPORTED GENESIS VEHICLES

Shanghai, China, June 2, 2023– Genesis Motor Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Genesis Motor China”), has recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Administrative Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Administrative Regulation on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. Starting today, Genesis Motor China will recall 1,602 units of imported Genesis G80, GV70, GV80 and Electrified GV70 and GV60 vehicles manufactured between January 13, 2021 and February 6, 2023. 

In the event of a low-speed collision, delayed actuation of front seat belt pretensioners installed on vehicles within the scope of this recall generates excess pressure in the pretensioner, which could force part of the pretensioner to detach and eject debris, posing a potential safety hazard.  

To prevent detachment and eliminate the safety hazard, Genesis Motor China will install an additional protective cap on the seat belt pretensioners of all affected vehicles, free of charge.

GENESIS MOTOR CHINA ANNOUNCES RECALL OF PART OF IMPORTED GENESIS GV60 VEHICLES

Shanghai, China, May 12, 2023 – Genesis Motor Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Genesis Motor China”), has recently filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Administrative Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Administrative Regulation on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. Starting on May 12, 2023, Genesis Motor China will recall 70 units of imported Genesis GV60 vehicles manufactured between August 24, 2022 and December 17, 2022.

Due to abnormal stress incurred during the manufacturing process, the surface of the rear driveshaft of vehicles subject to this recall may fracture. This may further cause the rear driveshaft to break while driving, therefore posing potential safety risks.

Genesis Motor China will replace rear driveshaft kits of affected vehicles free of charge to eliminate any related safety risks.

GENESIS MOTOR CHINA ANNOUNCES RECALL OF PART OF IMPORTED GENESIS VEHICLES

Shanghai, China, – June 10, 2022 – Genesis Motor Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (“Genesis Motor China”) has filed a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Administrative Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automotive Products and the Implementing Measures for the Administrative Regulation on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products. Beginning immediately, Genesis Motor China will recall a number of imported vehicles, which are shown to be manufactured between January 3 and February 22, 2022, including Genesis G70, Genesis G80 and Genesis GV80 models, totaling 299 vehicles.

Due to an administrative error, the production date shown on the Vehicle Certification Label and corresponding vehicle documentation on all involved vehicles is inconsistent with the year code indicated in their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Genesis Motor China will correct Vehicle Certification Labels and relevant documentation of affected vehicles free of charge. Meanwhile, Genesis Motor China will assist in replacing a new Vehicle Registration Certificate of those owners who have already registered their vehicles.
